Conformational control of molecular tweezers containing a disulfide bond by redox reactions

Non-covalent interactions are important in controlling the shapes of compounds and play an important role in supramolecular chemistry. Molecular tweezers, which have two aromatic chromophores connected by a spacer, are suitable receptors for planar π-electron guests because the two aromatic arms can hold the guest through π–π stacking interactions.

Modular One-Pot Synthesis of Tetrasubstituted Pyrroles from α-(Alkylideneamino)nitriles

2,3,4,5-Tetrasubstituted pyrroles have been prepared with high regioselectivity by a formal cycloaddition of α-(alkylideneamino)nitriles and nitroolefins followed by elimination of HCN and HNO2. The reaction allows the convergent construction of the pyrrole ring in four steps from a nitroalkane and three aldehydes.

Catalytic Asymmetric Diamination of Conjugated Dienes and Triene

A catalytic asymmetric for a variety of conjugated dienes and triene has been effectively achieved using di-tert-butyldiaziridinone as nitrogen source with a catalyst generated from Pd2(dba)3 and tetramethylpiperidine-derived phosphorus amidite ligand, giving diamination products in good yields with high regio-, diastereo-, and enantioselectivities.
